Alix is a passionate and highly qualified Special Education Needs (SEN) teacher and specialist assessor with a wealth of experience in working with primary and secondary aged students in British Curriculum Schools and government schools in Kenya. With an unwavering commitment to inclusive education, Alix has dedicated her career to ensuring that every child, regardless of their abilities or challenges, receives the support they need to thrive academically and emotionally. She possesses a deep understanding of the unique learning needs and potential barriers faced by young students with diverse learning abilities.

Alix has experience working in British Curriculum primary schools in Kenya, where she values creating a nurturing and conducive learning environment for all students.

Her ability to tailor teaching methods to accommodate individual differences allows her to empower students with learning disabilities and create opportunities for them to participate actively in the classroom. This led to her heading up three reputable Learning Support departments in Kenya.Furthering her passion for working with SEN students, Alix pursued specialized training and became a certified specialist assessor. Armed with this additional expertise, she has been instrumental in conducting comprehensive assessments to identify specific learning needs and determine appropriate intervention strategies for students with learning challenges. This includes making applications to International examining boards for exam access arrangements to allow all individuals the opportunities to take examinations regardless of the barriers faced with a specific learning difficulty.
In her role as a SEN teacher and specialist assessor, Alix prioritizes building strong partnerships with parents, fellow educators, and professionals to develop comprehensive support plans for each child. Her empathy, patience, and open communication style make her a trusted advocate for students and a reliable source of guidance for their families. She is happy to start engaging with the local government schools and spreading awareness about special educational needs and neurodiversity. This is an area needing development in East Africa. Alix is very interested in supporting the Kenyan educational system and local government schools with creating more awareness of neurodivergent children and young adults.
